Thomasina's story
Thomasina? Where are you Thomasina?
Many of you may be too young to remember the wonderful Disney movie called Thomasina about a cat that like to shall we say travel around a bit :-) . Our Thomasina has done her traveling after being found on the streets and now she is ready for a new home.
Poor Thomasina is front paws declawed, which means it being on the streets was definitely not the thing for her, and partially because of this and partially because she probably had to fight while she was on the streets, she does not like other cats. We will not adopt her to a home with other cats. We think she will be okay with children. We have no idea how she will do with dogs. We will take potential adopters for Thomasina who have dogs on an individual basis.
Thomasina is very stressed here at Merlin's hope. We have more cats here than we normally do and we do not have a private room for her as we normally prefer for our declawed cats. Because of that she is very vocal here. We do not think that vocalization will continue what she feels comfortable in her own home.
If you want to give this beautiful blue-eyed girl her very own home, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com. Thomasina is fostered in Ennis, TX. Her adoption fee is $225.
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.
Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.
YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
